Ludovic Vaty biography
Ludovic was a former professional basketball player, born on 21 November 1988 Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, a French overseas region. He mostly played as a center and had an incredible playing career prior to his sudden demise. Ludovic recorded nine selections with the French national basketball team.

Ludovic Vaty was 34 years old at the time of his passing and stood at a height of 2.06m (6’9”).
Ludovic Vaty career and achievements
Ludovic began his basketball journey with the MJC des Abymes Basket Club at the young age of 11. During his time there, he played in the Pôle espoir of the Guadeloupe Regional Basketball League. While playing with the MJC des Abymes team, he became the Guadeloupe junior champion back in 2003. He later became the Antilles-Guyana champion with the Guadeloupe regional selection.
Due to his growing talent and dedication Ludovic eventually joined the Federal Basketball Center and later, Élan Béarnais in 2006. Ludovic spent his first season with Élan Béarnais learning all he could about playing time in Pro A. And by the 2007-2008 season, the 6’9” star had become a key part of the first team.
During 2004, Ludovis was part of the European cadet championship-winning team. The following year in 2005, he suffered a knee injury that sidelined him from the European Junior Championships. However, he returned the next year in 2006 and won the European Junior Championships with the French national team.
Throughout his basketball career, Ludovic Vaty won various trophies and remarkable achievements. Most notably, Vaty was named the best player in the Leaders Cup back in February 2013. Aside from an impressive career, he has also played a crucial role in developing young talents achieve their potential.
Ludovic Vaty cause of death
Ludovic Vaty died after previously suffering a heart attack and being placed under induced coma. The incident happened when he was playing for the Toulouse Olympic Aerospace Club (TOAC) in NM2. During a training session, Ludovic Vaty suffered a heart attack and doctors placed him in an artificial coma with the hopes of giving him recovery time.
However, despite the best efforts of the medical officials, Ludovic Vaty remained under critical condition and eventually passed away. Ludovic passed away on September 1, 2023, at the Rangueil Hospital in Toulouse where he was undergoing treatment.
