The club’s ruling sees Irving completely sidelined from the Nets setup till he gets his COVID vaccine. Irving will not be a part of either the team’s preseason or NBA 2022 season modus operandi till he adheres to the league’s guidelines and gets himself inoculated with the vaccine.

In the midst of the massive setback, a source has gone onto claim that Irving isn’t anti-vaxx as is being widely envisaged but is rather against the COVID-19 guidelines in the country. According to The Athletic, the source has gone onto claim that the Nets player is dismayed with unvaccinated people losing their jobs in the country owing to the mandates.

“Kyrie wants to be a voice for the voiceless,” the person privy with the player went onto tell The Athletic.

“Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant,” Sean Marks, Nets’ GM had said previously.
