JR Smith received medical treatment after he was attacked by bees during his first ever gold tournament
Joining up with the North Carolina A&T golf team earlier this year, old NBA player, JR Smith finally got his first shot at a professional tournament. And while his maiden appearance was riddled with a slew of mistakes, JR Smith did show promising signs of impressing at the Elon Phoenix Invitational in Burlington, NC.
However, more than his game, what became the talk of the town was his bee attack. Smith ended up stepping into a beehive whilst playing a hole on Tuesday, an incident which saw him step away from the game for medical treatment.
JR Smith Gets Attacked By Bees During His Inaugural Golf Tournament
Smith who was playing in his final round ended up hitting a wayward shot on the 12th hole. According to onlookers, Smith went into the woods to scour for the missing ball during which he went onto step onto a hoard of bees who ended up stinging him.

Video of the incident shows Smith in arduous pain as he rubbed his foot and ankle area persistently before he decided it was prudent to step away for treatment. However, despite being in gruesome pain, Smith refused to be dissuaded with him returning to complete his game after allowing other groups to play ahead of him.
Smith finished the 12th hole with a double bogey before rebounding to card a par on the forthcoming Par 4 13th. As things stand, Smith is 2 over through his first fours holes of his final round. He had recorded scores of 78 and 83 in his first two rounds and his currently 81st.
