The regressing weather and strong bursts of rain at the Eau Rogue resulted in a calamitous crash to end Lando Norris’ qualifying effort at the Belgian Grand Prix
Despite the dark clouds ominously hovering over Spa and erupting at the Belgian Grand Prix, the Formula 1 officials for some reason decided it was prudent to keep the qualification going. Despite the visibility levels regressing on the day and drivers’ lives being in a puddle, the race went ahead without any qualms.
What was feared finally transpired as McLaren’s Lando Norris ended up hammering into the barrier at Eau Rogue. It was a horrific collision, one which saw his car swerve before spinning as the high speed accident rendered Norris’ race redundant.

As he failed to step out of his car for some time, Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel considered it only rightful to sacrifice his own time to check on Norris. He was seen pulling up next to Norris to check on him before pulling ahead after he informed his team that Norris was largely fine.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the crash, McLaren have gone onto provide a health update on Norris who has qualified for tomorrow’s race in P10 whilst Daniel will be in P4. The team affirmed that while nothing untoward had transpired, Norris was taken to the local hospital for further scans.
“Following his accident during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix, Lando was checked at the trackside medical centre and then sent to a local hospital for a precautionary x-ray of his elbow,” a statement released by the team on Twitter read.
