Search activities near the Cohasset, Massachusetts, home of a missing mother Ana Walshe were called off Saturday night, but the investigation into Ana Walshe’s disappearance will continue
The ground search “for Ana Walshe or evidence linked to her disappearance” has concluded, according to a joint statement published by the Massachusetts State Police and the Cohasset Police Department on Saturday.

Police will not resume their ground search unless they have new evidence that indicates it is necessary. An immediate family member reported the 39-year-old missing from her Cohasset residence about 4 or 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day, and police have sought the public for assistance in locating her.
Her husband reported her missing on Wednesday, and her Washington, DC company made a similar notification.

For the second day in a row, teams combed the woods near Walshe’s house off Chief Justice Cushing Highway on Saturday. Twenty police officers from a search and rescue unit, three police canine units, and a police helicopter all participated in the search on Saturday. State police divers have investigated a tiny creek near Walshe’s home off Route 3A and drained the pool, but they have not located any trace of the mother of three.

Ana Walshe’s physical appearance
Walshe is 5 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs around 115 pounds; state and local police have indicated that officers are pursuing “different investigative actions” to find him. She is of olive complexion, with brown hair and eyes, and talks with an Eastern European accent.
The Cohasset Police Department held a press conference on Friday to announce that they, along with many other agencies, have been working “around the clock” on the investigation.
In other news on Friday, the former home of the Ana Walshe family on Jerusalem Road in Cohasset was destroyed by fire just after 2 p.m. Police stated that the couple had moved out in April and that it was too soon to determine whether or not the fire had anything to do with Walshe’s disappearance.
On Saturday, police announced that their investigation into the fire had concluded that it had been caused by faulty piping connected to a natural gas fireplace insert, and that the fire was therefore accidental and not suspicious.
The fire had no adverse effects on anyone. At least four people, including a kid of 21 months, were able to exit the building safely before firefighters arrived.

Law enforcement officials from both the state and local levels said on Saturday that they had no new information to share. The friends of Walshe, a wife and mother of three small boys, told NBC10 Boston that she never went more than a few days without contacting her loved ones.
Police said Ana Walshe was taking a rideshare from her house to Logan Airport so she could catch a trip to Washington, DC, where she worked as a real estate executive. Police said they know for sure she didn’t go on an aircraft, but they haven’t figured out if she used a ride-sharing service yet.
Friends of Walshe are still in shock even though the ground search around her house is over. Truly, this is mind-boggling and heartbreaking,” Turell said. Quite simply, “I don’t know what to say.”
Authorities say they have been unable to trace any digital traces of Walshe since she went missing. The chief of police in Cohasset has asked that people “all around the country” keep an eye out for Ana Walshe, saying that she has connections to Washington, D.C.
According to the Cohasset Police Department, they have been in communication with their counterparts in Washington, D.C., who conducted a search of Walshe’s home and discovered no sign of her. Reports indicate that Walshe’s spouse is helping investigators out in every way possible.
