The 2022 BWF World Championships’ men’s singles competition will take place in the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium from August 22 through August 28, 2022. All competitors will be inspired to succeed and earn the highly sought-after gold medal due to the event’s lengthy history and renown.

2022 BWF World Championships Men’s Singles First Round Results, Score, And Winners

In his opening round encounter of men’s singles tournament at 2022 BWF World Championships, Indian ace Lakshya Sen defeated an erratic Vittinghus in straight sets with a score of 21-12, 21-11. 2019 bronze medalist Praneeth made a valiant attempt before losing to Chen in just over an hour, 15-21, 21-15, and 15-21.

Kidambi Srikanth, the 12th seed, needed 50 minutes to advance to the second round. He defeated Nguyen in straight sets to win 22-20, 21-19, and secured a round-of-32 matchup against Zhao Junpeng of China. Meanwhile, two-time world champion Kento Momota defeated Mexican Lino Munoz by scores of 21-16, 21-14 in straight sets.

Tuesday will host second-round matches for the top half of the men’s singles draw, which includes Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen, Indonesians Anthony Ginting and Jonatan Christie, as well as Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei.
