However, Lennay’s passing was a hoax, as she was actually a fake persona created by Ronaiah ‘Naya’ Tuiasosopo. Ronaiah claimed to have liked the attention the false profile had brought her.

When the news of the controversy emerged, Manti Te’o’s historic catfishing incident was one of the top stories in the NFL. Ronaiah “Naya” Tuiasosopo, who was unsure of her sexual orientation, is where the story began, according to various sources. Ronaih made the online persona Lennay Kekua to investigate her sexual preferences.
