Matheus Correia from Velim, popularly known as Comedian Selvy, passed away on Monday at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, which is devastating news for the tiatr community and tiatr enthusiasts in Goa.

Selvy was a well-known and adored contemporary entertainer and that’s why the news about his death has gone rounds on the internet.
According to the reports, he felt uneasy when performing in his theatre piece “8 Dis” at Pai Tiatrist Hall in Margao, and was subsequently hospitalized at GMC on Monday. However, doctors there are unable to save him and he took his last breath on Monday.
Since then, many people, including members of the social and political fraternity, have expressed their condolences to the departed comedian on numerous social media platforms. He has also become the talk of the town and his name has appeared on the trending list of various social media platforms.

Who Was Comedian Selvy?
Comedian Selvy was the famous comedian of Goa who has recently been in the news after he died recently.
His real name was Mathias Correia. Most people knew Selvy for his contractual stage performances. People flocked to get tickets to see him play live. On his IMDB profile, nothing much is mentioned about him but he has given credit for one role.
His work as an actor includes Welcome M1LL10NS (2018). He is said to as a talented actor, singer, and entertainer. Mathias was a whole combination of brilliant talents therefore his passing is a major loss to the entertainment industry. Everyone enjoyed his performances and videos.
In 2022, Mathias Correia will be between 45-55 years old. His son Myron and wife are grieving over his unexpected passing. His date of birth isn’t known.
How Did He Die?
A week ago, it was reported that comedian Selvy was receiving medical treatment at the GMC, Bambolim. A few days later, word emerged that he was healing nicely and was doing just fine.
At Pai Tiatrist Hall in Margao on Sunday, when Selvy was performing in his play “8 Dis,” he started to feel anxious. He also told the actors and crew about his toothache.
On Monday, he visited South Goa District Hospital in Margao for a checkup. His haemoglobin level had substantially decreased, and the doctors there notified him of this, sending him right away to GMC.
However, his kid revealed that he was getting well. His diabetes was returning to normal, but his blood platelet count hadn’t yet increased. He was actively answering calls while not even in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Following the announcement, the commotion in the fraternity gradually subsided. Everyone assumed it was a typical health issue, so he received treatment. People thought there was nothing to worry about, but to our surprise, he did not survive and passed away on 25th July 2022.
