Following his triumph at Royal Ascot last month, the three-year-old horse under Richard Fahey’s training will make his debut in open competition. In the race on Saturday, he will compete for his fourth Group 1 award against a star-studded field that includes Commonwealth Cup runner-up Flaming Rib and his regular rider Christophe Soumillon.

With many of its victors going on to be named the best sprinter in Europe, the Darley July Cup has long been recognized as one of Britain’s most valuable and renowned sprint events. This weekend, Newmarket hosts the most recent staging of the July Cup, one of the richest sprint events on the British calendar. At the track’s famed July Festival, which has a huge £600,000 prize pool, including £356,422 for winning connections. The July Cup 2022 is slated to begin at 4.25 p.m. on July 9th as the sixth race on the Newmarket schedule.
