Zambian footballer Philemon Mulala passed away after three pet dogs attacked him to death, know his cause of death

Philemon Mulala, a former striker for Zambia’s national team, was sadly killed earlier this week after his three pet dogs attacked him to death.

According to a statement from the South African Police Service, the former soccer player for Zambia’s national team was discovered dead by his wife in the yard of their house in the South African town of Lichtenburg.

Philemon Mulala was a well-known former Zambian footballer. He has been in the news because he passed away recently in a tragic way.

Many people also fondly called him Shombo, which means “hard worker.” He was born in 1963 in Tanganyika. While nothing much is known about his background, he had a brother named Philemon Kaunda who was also a footballer.

He was married, and his wife’s name is Lillian Chileshe.

He died on January 7, 2023, in Lichtenburg, North West, South Africa. At the time of his death, he was 60 years old.

His Career

Philemon Mulala was a well-known soccer player from Zambia who played for the Mufulira Wanderers and the Cape Town Spurs. He held a variety of positions throughout his career, including left-back and right-wing. In his six games for Zambia, he has three goals.

He scored twice in the East and Central African Championship semifinal victory over Kenya. He also experienced domestic success with Mufulira Wanderers in the mid-1980s, where he played alongside legendary Zambian players Kalusha Bwalya, Efford Chabala, and Ashios Melu.

Cause of Philemon Mulala’s death

He died after sustaining life-threatening injuries after his dogs attacked him. According to the Mirror, he has two Staffordshire bull terrier/pitbull hybrids and a third unidentified breed of dog.

Due to this, the police in South Africa have already started looking into the circumstances of the occurrences. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has also removed the three dogs from the premises.
