YS Sharmila, a prominent political figure and leader of the YSR Telangana Party, has been arrested and sent to jail for 14 days after allegedly assaulting police officers during a protest in Hyderabad.

The protest occurred in response to the Telangana State Public Service Commission’s suspected release of recruitment exam questions, which led to the cancellation of three tests and the detention of 11 people.
When Sharmila was stopped by the police on her way to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) office investigating the leak, footage of her shoving and hitting the officers surfaced.

Who is YS Sharmila?
YS Sharmila is a well-known Indian politician and YSR Telangana Party leader. She has been in the news because she was recently arrested and footage of her shoving and hitting the officers surfaced on the Internet.
Her full name is Yeduguri Sandinti Sharmila Reddy. She was born on December 17, 1970, in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, who was the former Andra Pradesh Chief Minister, and her mother’s name is Yeduguri Sandinti Vijayamma, who is also a politician. She also has a brother named YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
YS Sharmila is married, and her husband is M. Anil Kumar, who is a renowned evangelist. They also have two children: a son named Raja Reddy and a daughter named Anjali.
She is currently 52 years old.
Her career
In 2012, YS Sharmila started her political career by running for the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Subsequently, she participated in a 3,000-kilometer walkathon through 14 Andhra Pradesh districts and oversaw an 11-day bus yatra in 2019 dubbed “Praja Theerpu – Bye Bye Babu.”
However, in February 2021, she alleged having political differences with her brother. She founded her own political party, the YSR Telangana Party, on April 9, 2021, and picked July 8, 2021, the birthday of her father, Rajasekhara Reddy, as the official launch date.
She started campaigning against the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, formerly known as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
