YouTube comedian and animator Slick Goku has died at the age of 32, know his cause of death

Thursday, January 19, 2023, he passed away surrounded by loved ones. His real name was Reggie Groover, and he had a massive online following.

Family members verified Groover’s passing on January 21. His death was attributed to a “severe seizure” as reported by his friend and fellow voice actor, Freddie Heinz. He wrote on Twitter, “I’ve been quiet for the last few days because Reggie, to you known as @SlickGoku2GS has died 2 days ago due to a severe seizure. He was a very good friend of mine and I’m heartbroken.”

There is currently a GoFundMe page set up by the YouTuber’s family to raise money for funeral expenses. His family members said that “Reggie had a creative soul. He created his own YouTube Community and worked diligently to create his own videos. Anywhere Reggie would go he would make friends. Reggie was the kind of man that would support those he cared about.”

Slick Goku launched his own channel on YouTube

Groover gained notoriety with his Slick Goku-themed short animation and voice-over films. On December 1, 2018, he launched a YouTube channel, which has now amassed over 2,64,000 subscribers. He has uploaded 591 videos to his channel over the past four years, attracting over 43 million views.

In a statement posted to GoFundMe, Slick Goku’s mother, Janice Gore, confirmed his death.

On January 18, a day before he passed away, he published the final video on his channel. The title of his final video is, “Eren Jaeger Meets Optimus Prime [SFM].” The number of Groover’s Twitter followers was sizable as well. In the first month of its existence, he gained over 9,000 followers.

Tributes come from his fans

Friends and admirers of Groover wasted no time in expressing their shock and paying tribute to him after hearing the news of his death. Fans expressed shock that he was no longer with them.
