All you need to know about WTA Japan Open Tokyo tennis 2022, its draw, order of play, schedule
The 37th Toray Pan Pacific Open will take place in the Japanese capital from September 19–25, marking the WTA Tour’s return to Tokyo following a two-year absence. This year’s Pan Pacific Open won’t feature players like Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur, but the main draw does feature some talented players, have a look below.

Monday, Sept. 19 marks the start of main draw action.
On September 25, Sunday, there will be singles and doubles finals. At noon, the singles final will take place, and the doubles final will follow.
Players, Seeds And Draw
At the WTA 500 competition, Naomi Osaka, who won the trophy in front of her home fans in 2019, will once again be the main attraction. Paula Badosa and Caroline Garcia are two other top-10 players competing in the tournament.
The tournament’s top seed, World No. 4, Badosa, will be in the front of the pack this year. Along with the other top four seeds, the Spaniard received a bye in the first round. With seventh seed Alison Riske Amritraj waiting in the quarterfinals, Badosa may meet local favourite Misaki Doi or Chinese prospect Zheng Qinwen in the Round of 16.
The bottom half of the draw is led by Garbine Muguruza and Caroline Garcia, although opponents like Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and former Pan Pacific Open champion Karolina Pliskova will put up a fight. Fourth seed Veronika Kudermetova and Beatriz Haddad Maia are some of the other interesting names in the draw.

Venue
The Pan Pacific Open switched from indoor carpet courts at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium to outdoor hard courts at the Ariake Coliseum in 2008. All but one of the tournament’s subsequent iterations have taken place in the ten thousand-seat venue with a retractable roof.
