Wrestler Priya Malik Clinches The Gold Medal At The World Cadet Wrestling Championship In Hungary

Haryana’s Priya Malik won the gold medal in Hungary during the World Cadet Wrestling Championship 2021

Priya Malik is an Indian wrestler and plays in the 73 kg weight category.

The World Cadet Wrestling Championships were held in Hungary, Budapest this year. Indian wrestler Priya Malik has made the entire Indian nation proud by winning a gold medal in the 73 kg weight category in wrestling. India is having quite a good time as before Priya Malik’s win, Mirabai Chanu at the Olympics won a silver medal. All social media platforms are flooded with posts of these two Indian girls, people are congratulating them.

Haryana sports minister and various other sports ministers took their Instagram handle to congratulate Priya Malik after her massive victory at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships. She has become the first Indian ever to mark a win at the Cadet Wrestling Championships. She defeated Kseniya Patapovich from Belarus.

Apart from Priya, Indian wrestler Varsha defeated Duygu Gen and won a bronze medal at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships in the 65 kg category.

Priya Malik Career, Awards And Achievements 

This is not the first time that this talented girl has bagged a gold medal. In the 2019 edition of the Khelo India tournament, she won a gold medal as well. Before participating in the World Cadet Wrestling Championships, she participated at the National Cadet Championships held in Patna. In the National Cadet Championships, she bagged two gold medals. Despite the fact that Priya has a short career, still we can say that it is a decorated one.

Priya Malik Family

Priya Malik hails from Haryana, India, and was born in a Hindu family to Jaibhagwan Nidan. She completed her schooling at a sports school named Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School in Haryana. She took wrestling as a hobby but later on started taking it as a serious profession. Anshu Malik has trained Priya Malik since her initial career days.

She is not active on social media platforms these days, maybe she is devoting all her time to the sport of wrestling to make India more proud.
