Arun Lal Bats For Virat Kohli After WTC Final

Now when New Zealand has defeated India in WTC Final, the fans are disappointed with team India players. This loss has given place to a lot of criticism in the country against some big names of the cricketing world. The major reason behind India’s defeat can be considered the worst batting line-up. No single batsman was playing well during the final match.

Indian cricketers only managed to post a total of 217 runs during the WTC final match. India was to bat first and New Zealand was bowling during the first innings. Virat Kohli scored only 44 runs while Ajinkya Rahane scored 46 runs. This duo could have performed way better than what they did according to Indian cricket fans.

Virat is being criticized mainly for his dismissal by Kylie Jamieson. Former Indian cricket player Arun Lal backed Virat Kohli though and stated that blaming Virat for this scene alone is not at all justified. Also, he added that winning and losing are a part of the game so the fans should not get disheartened.

“Look, Virat made a mistake, and that happens. There’s so much pressure on him, while the ball was also moving a lot in such conditions.

We can’t really say it was a bad shot. Your foot is two feet away from the ball and you still hit it for a boundary, everyone then says it’s a classy shot. Besides, all our batsmen looked vulnerable against the Dukes’ ball. Why blame Virat alone?” Arun Lal said.

Arun Lal has been an ace Indian cricket team batsman. Presently he is the official coach of the Bengal cricket team. He has played a total of 16 test matches and 13 ODI’s. He is considered a gem of his era.
