World Taekwondo Championships Baku 2023 schedule, date, time, events, live stream telecast

Here is all you need to know about the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships schedule, date and how to watch the tournament live 

There will be 16 weight categories for men and women to compete in at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. Six Olympic gold medalists are in the field’s top 10.

Along with the Olympic superstars, this competition qualifies athletes for the 2024 Olympics in Paris and will also feature several past champions.

Through the World Taekwondo Olympic ranking, which will take results from a few different contests into consideration until December 2023, the contest offers competitors the chance to earn points towards Olympic qualification.

The 2023 World Championships will be held in Baku with participation from athletes from 144 nations and a refugee team made up of seven individuals.

Bianca Cook (Walkden), a three-time world champion, is in the lead, followed by double global gold medalists Panipak Wongpattanakit, who just triumphed over her fourth Southeast Asian Games crown in Cambodia, Rafael Alba Castillo of Cuba, and Mahdi Khodabakhshi of Serbia.

Two-time Olympic bronze medalist Cook, who is ranked first in the women’s +73kg, is back on the international arena and aiming for a record-breaking fourth world championship after missing the most recent tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico, due to injury.
