The 2022 Betfred World Snooker Championship is a professional snooker tournament that will take place from April 16 to May 2, 2022, at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. The tournament will be the venue’s 46th World Snooker Championship. The tournament, which is the 16th and final ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season, is hosted by the World Snooker Tour.

The tournament matches will take place in the following manner:
- 21st April- 25th April: Second Round Matches
- April 26- April 27: Quarter-final Matches
- April 28- April 30: Semi-final Matches
- May 1- May 2: Final
Tournament Format And Rules
The best of 19 frames will be present in the first round of the main draw, the best of 25 frames in the second round and quarter-finals, and the best of 33 frames in the semi-finals. The final will be a best-of-35-frames competition played over two days.

The event’s second round will be contested over three sessions between April 21 and 25, with the best of 25 frames. Thirteen of the top 16 seeds, as well as three qualifiers, Page, Maguire, and Saengkham, advanced to the 2022 Snooker World Championship 2nd round.
Williams faced his Welsh compatriot and practice partner Page in the second round opener, a player he described as “not just a friend, more like my fourth son.” Williams won the first seven frames with breaks of 125, 74, 53, 50, 100, 75, 51, and 121, but Page avoided a session whitewash with a 43 clearance in the eighth frame, leaving Williams 7–1 at the break. In the session, Page only received 134 points.
In his second-round match against Zhao, Maguire utilized a new cue and made two century and an 80-point break to take a 5–3 lead after the first session.
