By defeating Martin Adams 5-1 in sets, Robert Thornton has won the 2022 World Seniors Darts Championship 2022, know its prize money
Thornton was completely dominant until the final dart, missing eleven match darts along the way, letting Adams to come back for a setback and also send the requisite one to a decider.
After a classy weekend, ‘The Thorn’ is a World Champion, adding to his championships at the World Grand Prix, UK Open, and World Masters.

With an 89 checkout to break throw, Thornton closed up the first leg. He started with a 177 and then followed up an Adams 180 with his own to leave 44 as he moved one away from the first set.
As he slammed in double 20 to go one set up, ‘The Thorn’ was averaging 118. To get a leg on the board, Adams missed bull for a 72 checkout, but the Scot slammed in double 16 to hold.
Thornton wasted a chance to cement a break at 84, but more darts went begging for Adams, and Thornton potted double 11 to move one set closer to a 2-0 lead. Thornton made it six legs without reply with a 77 checkout.
Adams was finally able to get his final off and running. They hit back-to-back 180s, but Adams let Thornton come back with a clinical 68 to tie the game at 1-1. He followed it up with a 116 checkout to break the tie, and he was throwing for a 3-0 lead.
‘Wolfie’ blasted a third 180, but Thornton hit another to be the first to a finish on his throw, and he finished with six at 124.

Seniors Darts Championship Prize Money
The organiser of the World Seniors Darts Championship, the World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT), has announced that the winner will receive a prize of 25,000 pounds.
The winner will also receive a one-of-a-kind trophy. This trophy honours Leighton Rees, Jocky Wilson, Eric Bristow, and Andy Fordham, four world champions who are no longer with us.
