The world’s number team the United States is leading the current medal tally with 18 medals overall and would be hoping to further extend its lead in the coming events.
As day five came to an end yesterday, now athletes are gearing up to give their all on day 6.
Indian athlete’s event results at World Athletics Championships 2022 so far:
The results from the Indian athletes have not been up to the mark as expected, on day 4 of the World Athletics Championships, India’s Avinash Sable finished 11th in the men’s 3000m steeplechase final. Earlier, India’s long jumper Murali Shreshankar finished 7th in the final with a best distance of 8.00 metres.
While in the shot put event, Tajinderpal Singh Toor had to be ruled out due to injury before the qualification round. In the women’s 300m steeplechase Parul Yadav failed to make it to the finals. Meanwhile, women’s 200m sprinter S Dhanalakshmi was forced to miss the event due to a visa issue.
