Team principal Andreas Seidl and Lando Norris have had a healthy rivalry over the support of their respective countries ahead of England vs Germany in Euro 2020

The German team principal of British-based Mclaren finds himself surrounded by England supporters who will be cheering for their team on Tuesday at Wembley. He will hope that Germany can triumph over their bitter English rivals on their home soil.

Euro 2020 Fever Hits Formula 1

21-year-old English driver of English company Mclaren has made his intentions clear as to whom he is gonna cheer in the upcoming crucial last-16 fixture of the EURO 2020. Talking about his Team principal, he said, “But Andreas Seidl is the obvious one who is a big football fan, a big Germany supporter of course. But he is also my boss so I don’t know how to pace myself with supporting England. So if England beats Germany we will not let him forget this anytime soon.

Andreas Seidl Affirms German Support Ahead Of England vs Germany In Euro 2020

Andreas Siedl is a German Motorsport Engineer who was appointed as the team principal of Mclaren in January 2019. He is a Football enthusiast who supports his home country Germany in every football tournament.

“I will definitely wear my German shirt. There will be a lot of English shirts around in the team – but I am looking forward to getting through to the next stage with the German team!,” he said.

In this clash between England and Germany in the last-16 fixture of the EURO 2020, he will hope that his team can qualify for the next round after defeating their opponent so that he can mock all his colleagues ahead of the second leg of the Styrian Grand Prix.

Friends on and off the track

Mclaren driver Lando Norris and team principal Andreas Siedl share a good relationship both on and off the track as Lando Norris secured the fourth position on the grid but will start the race ahead of this position when Valterri Bottas will be handed over his 3 place penalty for spinning in the pit lane.

Styrian Grand Prix Qualifying

Norris was cruising through Qualifying at the Red Bull Ring and finds himself in a very comfortable position on the grid to continue his excellent points scoring run – he remains the only driver on the grid to have scored a top ten finish in each of the opening seven races.

His teammate Daniel Ricciardo will start way back at the thirteenth position as he marginally escaped Q1 but failed to qualify in Q2. The Australian will not enjoy this phase of his Formula 1 career after switching from the Alpine Renault.
