This year’s competition is the fourth edition and features the top 16 teams battling to enter the final round.

Out of the 16 teams, only eight teams will play in the final round from 12 to 16 July in Arlington, Texas (United States).
Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2023 format
The Women’s VNL 2023 will begin with the preliminary round, divided into three weekly phases. 16 teams are set to participate and the teams will be divided into two pools, with each pool being rearranged every week.

Following the end of the three weeks, the top eight teams in the standings will then enter the final round. The draw for the final round knockout stages will be based off of the teams’ rankings after the preliminary round.
