The best-of-seven series will begin on Friday at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado and conclude on June 19, Monday.
NBA Finals 2023 Denver Nuggets vs Miami Heat
This will be the first time that the Denver Nuggets will compete in the NBA finals ever since joining the league in 1976. Miami Heat on the other hand will be playing their seventh NBA Finals. They will also be looking to win their fourth Larry O’Brien Trophy, having previously won it back in 2006, 2012, and 2013. The Miami Heats made their last NBA Finals appearance back in 2020 where they lost to Los Angeles Lakers 4-2.
Four of the matches in the NBA Finals 2023 seven-game series will take place in Denver. The other three matches will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
NBA 2023 road to finals
Denver Nuggets are the top-seeded team and are led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic of Serbia. The Nuggets secured a spot in the finals after easily winning past LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals.
On the other hand, Miami Heat secured their final berth following a tremendous comeback against the Boston Celtics. The Jimmy Butler-led team defeated Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks before beating the Boston Celtics 4-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Miami Heat are also just the second team in NBA history to enter the finals despite being an eighth-seeded team. The New York Knicks were the first to do so back in 1999.
Ahead of the finals, the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat have played against each other twice earlier this season. The Nuggets won on both occasions with close margins of 124-119 and 112-108.
