India started strongly and seized the lead in the 28th minute through Vandana Katariya, but Korea stunned the holders with a stunning comeback after the change of ends, scoring thrice through captain Enubi Cheon (31st), Seung Ju Lee (45th), and Hyejin Cho (47th).

Vandana’s reverse hit attempt was stopped by the Korean custodian from close range seconds before the first quarter ended.
