The Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in 2022 is the ninth edition of the biannual Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, which is held by the International Hockey Federation every two years. It was set to take place in Potchefstroom, South Africa, from December 5 to 16, 2021. However, it was later postponed, with South Africa remaining the host. The event is taking place at the original venue and will run from April 2 to 13, 2022.
Argentina were the defending champions having won the previous edition. This year also, Argentina were one of the favorites to win the tournament but they got knocked out by Germany with a score of 4-1 in the quarter-finals.

For the final event, a total of 16 teams qualified. Apart from South Africa, which qualified as hosts automatically, 15 other teams qualified from five other continental competitions.
In the preliminaries, 16 teams are divided into four groups and top-two teams from each group qualified for the quarter-finals.

2022 Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup Final Results, Scores
Both final and third-place match of 2022 Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup were played on 12th April 2022. In the final, Netherlands defeated Germany 3-1 in a close contest to win their fourth title in the tournament history. Van der Veerdonk opened the scoring for the Dutch in the seventh minute, in reply to which, Germany equalized in the 32nd minute through a goal from Schwabe. However, two quick goals from Beetsma earned Netherlands the champion title.
Meanwhile, India lost the third-place shootout against England in penalty shoot-out after all three Indian players missed their chance during the shoot-out compared to England’s 100-percent conversion. The match ended 2-2 after normal time as India failed to maintain their 2-1 lead in the last minutes of regular play.

During the tournament, in 42 matches, 202 goals were scored for an average of 4.81 goals per match. Champion Netherlands player Jip Dicke finished as the top scorer of the tournament with 13 goals followed by teammate Luna Fokke with 11 goals and Indian star Mumtaz Khan with 8 goals.
