Pune Police have made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the Gaurav Ahuja obscene act case by apprehending Bhagyesh Oswal, a close associate of the accused. Oswal, who was reportedly present alongside Ahuja in the vehicle during the Yerawada incident, was taken into custody from Pune. The Pune police have now also detained age 24 Gaurav Ahuja in Maharashtra’s Satara district and he was taken to Yerawada police station for further legal proceedings. After completing the formalities of his arrest, he will be presented before the holiday court and Oswal and he have been sent for medical tests with police suspecting they were intoxicated at the time of their arrest.
Age 24 Gaurav is the son of hotelier and businessman Manoj Ahuja, who when approached by the media, expressed deep regret over his son’s actions. Stating that he felt ashamed, he acknowledged his willingness to accept any legal consequences. The BMW which his son Gaurav was seen driving in the viral video is registered in Manoj’s name.
Their restaurant, ‘Cream & Kitchen’, is located in the Swargate area of Pune with Manoj and Gaurav also said to be involved in cricket and poker betting.

Why the authorities were are searching for Gaurav Ahuja?
Investigations have uncovered that Gaurav Ahuja, along with his father Manoj Ahuja, has been involved in various criminal activities over the years. Records indicate that as early as 2021, when he was just 20 years old, Gaurav had been implicated in a case related to gambling and kidnapping, which was registered at the Viman Nagar Police Station. At the time, he was suspected of running an illegal cricket betting operation.

Reports suggest that Ahuja had been operating as part of a larger betting syndicate led by Pune-based gangster Sachin Pote. The gang allegedly targeted college students, drawing them into gambling activities and subsequently trapping them in cycles of debt. In response to a victim’s complaint, Pune Police’s Crime Branch launched a detailed investigation, which ultimately led to the arrests of Sachin Pote, Gaurav Ahuja, Ajay Shinde, and Sunil Makheeja. CCTV footage reportedly traced Ahuja’s movements, showing him heading toward Wagholi before returning to the location of the incident.
