The Women โ meme comment is a direct reference to a scene from a popular Team Fortress 2 animated video. The video, uploaded by YouTuber Tipsy Duck, shows two men (Team Fortress 2 characters Medic and Soldier) standing in a yard while holding coffee in their hands.
While the two men are standing, a woman (Scout’s Mom) walks by them. Medic then lets out a humph and remarks, “Women,” following which both men proceed to laugh while taking several sips from their cup and coffee pot.
Later in 2021, a user uploaded a clip from the video showing just Medic and Soldier saying โWomenโ and laughing on YouTube. That very clip is the clip that has gained much popularity among online users around September 2022.
Online users started using it as a video reaction to clips of women acting cringy, irrational or in another chuckle-worthy manner. By late 2021, the clip started first started spreading to TikTok. And by February 2022, it became a recognized meme all over other social media platforms.
