The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has been just concluded successfully after its two-week-long campaign. During the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games we witnessed some exciting events and, also saw the rise of many future stars as well as gave a farewell to many legends of the sport.
But now, it’s again time to gear up as the 2022 Winter Paralympics is about to begin.
Schedule And Date Of The 2022 Winter Paralympics
The 2022 Winter Paralympics will begin from 4th to 13th March. This global Paralympics event would be hosted over 10days with many athletes who will be participating in 78 different events spread across six sports which are divided into two disciplines: snow sports which include alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, and snowboarding and ice sports that include Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling.
- 5 March: Para Alpine Skiing Downhill M/W (10:00-13:10), Para Biathlon Women’s and Men’s 6km (Sitting 10:00-11:15, Standing 12:00-13:15, Vision impaired 14:00-15:15)
- 6 March: Para Alpine Skiing Super G M/W (10:00-14:30), Para Cross-Country Skiing Men’s 18km (Sitting 10:00-11:35) and Women’s 12km (Sitting 12:30-14:00)
- 7 March: Para Cross-Country Skiing Men’s 20km Classic (Standing/Vision Impaired 10:00-12:00) and Women’s 15km Classic (Standing/Vision Impaired 12:30-15:00), Para Snowboard Cross M/W (Finals 11:30-14:30).
- 8 March: Para Alpine Skiing Super Combined M/W (Super G 10:00-12:30, Slalom 13:30-14:30), Para Biathlon Women’s and Men’s 10km (Sitting 10:00-11:15, Standing 12:00-13:15, Vision Impaired 14:00-15:15)
- 9 March: Para Cross-Country Skiing Sprint Free M/W (Semi-final and Final 12:00-15:00)
- 10 March: Para Alpine Skiing Giant Slalom M (9:30-11:30, 13:00-15:00)
- 11 March: Para Alpine Skiing Giant Slalom W (9:30-11:00, 13:00-15:00), Para Biathlon Women’s and Men’s 12.5km (Sitting 10:00-11:30, Standing 12:30-14:00, Vision Impaired 14:30-16:00)
- 12 March: Wheelchair Curling Gold medal final (14:35-17:30), Para Alpine Skiing Slalom M (9:30-11:00, 12:30-14:00), Para Cross-Country Skiing Men’s 10km Free Vision/Impaired/Standing (10:00-11:15) and Women’s 10km Freer Vision/Impaired/Standing (12:00-13:30), Para Snowboard Banked Slalom M/W Finals (12:00-15:00)
- 13 March: Para Ice Hockey Gold medal final (13:00-15:30), Para Alpine Skiing Slalom W (9:30-10:30, 12:30-14:00), Para Cross-Country Skiing Mixed Relay 4×2.5km (10:00-11:30), Open Relay 4×2.5km (12:00-13:30)
Venue Of The Mega Event
Alike the 2022 Winter Olympics, the 2022 Paralympics will too take place in China’s capital Beijing and its territories. All the sporting events will take place at six venues in the three competition zones of central Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou.
The National Indoor Stadium for Para ice hockey and the National Aquatic Centre for wheelchair curling is also among the selected venues that will host this mega sporting event. These selected venues are venues that carry legacy from the 2008 Olympics as well as the Paralympics.
The Opening And Closing Ceremony Of This Global Event
The Opening ceremony for the 2022 Winter Paralympics will take place at the Beijing National Stadium on the 4th of March 2022, Friday. The Closing ceremony will also take place at the same venue on 13th March 2022, Sunday.

Though this mega Paralympic event won’t be having any particular or specific channel for telecast in India if one has access to NBC, Peacock, USA Network, Olympic Channel, NBCOlympics.com, and the NBC Sports app can watch or stream the global Paralympic event on their television, phone or on any other device beginning on 4th of March, 2022.

Events And Medals Of The Winter Olympics Beijing 2022
The 2022 Winter Paralympics will be featuring a maximum of 736 Paralympians spreading across 78 medal events. In addition, will be having 39 medal events for men, 35 events for women and there will be 4 mixed events. There will be a maximum of 222 slots available for women participants in the Global Para sporting event.
