Notably, the 2024 Winter Cup is a qualifying event for the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which will determine the Junior and Senior national gymnastic teams.
Winter Cup gymnastics 2024 preview
Out of all the participants, all eyes are on Olympic all-around winners Gabby Douglas and reigning champ Sunisa Lee. The 28-year-old Gabby Douglas won the 2012 London Olympics and last competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She will make a return to Kentucky after skipping the Tokyo Olympics, which sparked rumors of a retirement.
Aside from Douglas, Suni Lee, who was the all-around champion at the Tokyo Olympics, will be the top favorite set to return to action. Sadly, this year, Simone Biles will not compete at the Winter Cup despite still being in the works of securing a spot on the 2024 Olympic team. Biles had to withdraw from several events at the Tokyo Olympics after experiencing the “twisties.”

The upcoming competition will start on Friday, February 23, and go on until Sunday, February 25, 2024. The Kentucky International Convention Center, located in Louisville, Kentucky, will host the upcoming event.
