British Racing Driver Jack Aitken is one of the four drivers who were transferred to the Spa medical center following a crash in the 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamps
British-Korean racing driver Jack Aitken is currently the reserve driver for the Williams Formula One Team. At the summit of Eau Rouge, he was involved in a collision at Spa along with Davide Rigon, Franck Perera and Kévin Estre. All of them have been transferred to the circuit medical center. Fortunately, none of them have sustained any life-threatening injuries. Read on to know more.
Williams F1 Reserve Driver Jack Aitken Reveals Fractured Vertebra
The British racer Jack Aitken was driving an Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini in the event and was consequently involved in a multi-car shunt at Raidillon with three other drivers – Davide Rigon, Franck Perera and Kévin Estre. As per the race organizers, while Jack Aitken and Davide Rigon were transferred to hospital for further evaluation, Franck Perera and Kévin Estre were released to their teams.

Aitken took to Twitter to express his gratitude to everyone who had supported him in the last 16 hours or so, from the marshals, medical staff trackside and at the hospital, his wonderful team, fellow drivers and everyone who has been sending him messages.

He went on to explain that though he has broken his collarbone and fractured a vertebra, he is fortunately stable. As of now, he is aiming to get back to the UK and recover as best as possible to be back in the car soon. He ended on a positive note, saying how with so many people around him, he is sure that he’ll manage it just fine. In the end, he also thanked the Lamborghini Squadra Corse for building a “damn strong chassis.”

Williams F1 Sends Best Wishes To Jack Aitken
The Williams Formula One team tweeted their support for Aitken soon afterwards. Aitken started one Grand Prix for the Grove-based team, in Sakhir last year where he deputized for George Russell; he also races for Formula 2. Meanwhile, Kévin Estre has left the medical centre and returned to Team Tutronik Racing. “I’m ok. Thanks to the medical staff,” he wrote on Twitter.
