William Hurt, an American actor best known for films including “The Big Chill” and “A History of Violence,” has died at the age of 71, according to US media.

Will Hurt, Hurt’s son, said in a statement to many outlets,
“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday. He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes.”
Hurt was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer that spread to the bone in May 2018, however, his son’s message did not say whether or not the condition played a role in his death.

From 1971 through 1982, Hurt was married to Mary Beth Hurt. Hurt and Sandra Jennings began dating in Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1981, when he was still married.
Hurt’s first wife divorced him as a result of it. Hurt and Jennings stayed technically unmarried for a time before eventually splitting up. Hurt dated Marlee Matlin for a year and lived with her for two.
Hurt has four children which includes 1 with Jennings, 2 with Heidi Henderson, and 1 with Sandrine Bonnaire, a French actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter.
