Crystal Palaceโs Wilfried Zaha was absent for the teamโs clash against Artetaโs Arsenal, know what happened to him, his injury and health update and return date
Patrick Vieira, manager of Crystal Palace has provided an update on Zahaโs absence in the game against Arsenal. It would have been interesting to see the Ivory Coast international play against Arsenal since Zaha played with the Gunners for nine years, from 1996 to 2005. Unfortunately, the Arsenal fans, who still love him dearly did not get a glimpse of the 28-year old forward.

So the reason Vieira gave for Zahaโs absence was an illness that Zaha strangely picked up while he was on International duty for the Ivory Coast national team. The Palace manager was very focused about the game against Arsenal and wanted his boys to perform well, even without his main man Wilfried Zaha.
โHe came back from international duty and he wasnโt feeling well at all,โ said Vieira to Sky Sports during his pre-match interview. โHe didnโt have any kind of training with the team so we decided to leave him at home,โ stated Vieira. However, the Eaglesโ manager reassured of Zahaโs health by saying that although he was feeling better, it seemed prudent to rule him out of the match against the Gunners.
Wilfried Zaha Tentative Return Date
Even though there have been no specific reports on his return date, it looks like Zaha will be out for the Eaglesโ next fixture against Newcastle United which is on Saturday, 23rd of October. He might be out for a minimum of 2-3 weeks if the illness isnโt that grave.
