The MCG erupted when Indian batter Dinesh Karthik was given out even when collected the ball before stumps. The fans thought that it should’ve been given as a no-ball because Wicket keeper collected the ball ahead of the stumps.

According to the rules it was fair as the was struck on the pads of Dinesh Karthik before Rizwan collected it.

The keeper can collect the ball in front of the wickets if the striker had some contact with the ball. In this case, Wicket-keepers have every right to run the batsman out if he is out of the crease even if the ball hasn’t passed the stumps.

Underpressure Ashwin calmly finished the game

After the dismissal of Dinesh Karthik at a very crucial stage in the match, the game’s faith was again even on both sides. India needed 2 off 1 delivery and new batsman R Ashwin was on strike. Nawaz bowled quick delivery wide down the leg which was excellently left by Ashwin.

On the last ball, India needed 1 off 1, and Ashwin calmly timed the ball over the infield to seal the game for India.
