The twenty-two-year-old Oba Femi of WWE NXT has made remarks following his first-ever championship victory on January 9.

Femi entered the ring after Dragon Lee, who was supposed to be the final bout of the evening, had successfully defended the NXT North American Championship against Lexis King (Brian Pillman Jr.).
After winning the most recent NXT men’s breakout tournament, Femi said that this was the moment to cash in on his contract for a championship bout.
Who is Oba Femi?
Nigerian professional wrestler and former shot putter Isaac Odugbesan was born on May 21, 2001, in Lagos, Nigeria. The 22-year-old stands 6 ft 4 in (193 cm) tall.

Throughout his time in high school, Odugbesan had received multiple medals. By winning Conference USA, he would get a scholarship as a student-athlete at Middle Tennessee State University.
In the summer of 2019, Odugbesan moved to the University of Alabama, where he won the outdoor title in the final year before graduating, as well as the shot put title at the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2021 and 2022.
He is presently employed by WWE, where he competes as Oba Femi on the NXT network. After his first reign, he is the current and youngest NXT North American Champion. Odugbesan signed a deal with the company on December 8, 2021, as part of the WWE’s new Next In Line strategy, which aims to groom college athletes into future WWE wrestlers.
Femi would make his official NXT debut on April 25, 2023, at Spring Breakin, defeating Oro Mensah, after failing to win on the show through the month of February. Femi was victorious in the third and final round of NXT: New Year’s Evil on January 2, 2024, defeating Riley Osborne to claim the title.
The following week, Femi used his Breakout Tournament contract to his advantage and defeated Dragon Lee to win the NXT North American Championship; his first ever title; becoming the youngest champion of African descent and the first graduate of the Next In Line programme to win a WWE title.
