About Vinesh Phogat
Born on August 25, 1994, in Bhiwani, Haryana, Vinesh Phogat comes from a family deeply rooted in wrestling with her height at 1.59m. Her uncle, Mahavir Singh Phogat, a respected coach and Dronacharya Awardee, introduced her to the sport at a young age.
Vinesh, a three-time Olympian, entered the final of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to reach a gold medal bout, but as aforesaid, she was disqualified for being overweight by 100 grams before her match.
