Sarah Ann Hildebrandt is an American freestyle wrestler who was born on September 23, 1993, in Granger, Indiana, USA, to parents, Nancy, and Chris Hildebrandt. She notably won the bronze medal in the women’s 50 kg event back in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. Aside from her Olympic triumph, she is also a four-time medallist at the World Wrestling Championships as well as a gold medallist at the Pan American Games. She competes in the 50 kg and 53 kg weight class. Hildenbrandt is also a seven-time gold medallist at the Pan American Wrestling Championships.
She was ranked number 3 in the world at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Career and achievements
Hildebrandt first represented USA at the Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia in 2013. She then competed at the 2016 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, but failed to win a medal. The following year, she won a silver at the Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin 2017, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
Hildebrandt then won a bronze in the women’s 53 kg event at the 2018 Klippan Lady Open. She later won a gold at the 2018 Pan American Wrestling Championships in Lima, Peru in the women’s 53 kg event. She has since won four six other golds at the same competition in the 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023 editions.
Sarah Hildebrandt then won a silver in the women’s 53 kg event in the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary. She won a silver at the same competition in the 50 kg event in 2021, and bronze in the 2022 and 2023 editions. Hildebrandt won another gold in the women’s 53 kg at the 2019 Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin.
Later that year, she won a gold in the women’s 53 kg event at the 2019 Pan American Games and in the women’s 50 kg event at the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane 2021. Sarah Hildebrandt then secured her 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics spot during the U.S. Team Trials in April 2021, where she secured a bronze medal. Hildebrandt also won a gold in the same event at the 2022 Tunis Ranking Series in Tunis, Tunisia.
Following this triumph, she earned a quota for the United States for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She eventually qualified for the Olympics at the US Olympic trials. She is now set to feature in the final of the women’s freestyle 68 kg final against India’s Vinesh Phogat.
