Who is Sajeevan Sajana?
Sajeevan Sajana is a women’s cricket team player who was born on January 4, 1995 and is currently 29 years old. She hails from Mananthavady in Wayanad, Kerala.
Sajana has a degree in political science.
She belongs to the Kurichia community which is an Adivasi tribe and is a Hindu by religion. Sajana was sent to a residential school at the very young age of 9.

Sajeevan Sajana, whose family was not financially strong enough to find her sporting essentials, as per what her father tells PTI, she used to play cricket with her friends and relatives at the nearby paddy field. Her father further says that his daughter once met Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricket player, at Krishnagiri Stadium and received an autographed bat and that is how they discovered how passionate their daughter was about the sport.
Sajana’s narrative took an intriguing turn when she was chosen to represent her area in the Under-19 competitions. It emphasises that she had the skill and hard effort to support her cricketing path rather than relying solely on luck. She even led the team as their captain.
Her entry into the auction pool during the inaugural WPL auction early last year was the first indication of her increasing recognition. When the Mumbai Indians selected the 29-year-old from the auction room towards the end of the previous year, Sajana’s perseverance was rewarded and she is now making waves by her performance with the game-winning strike.

As per a video uploaded on the Mumbai Indians’ site, Sajana earned her first salary in the form of just 150 rs per day as a part of her “daily allowance” when she was selected to play for her district which was a “big money” for her. Later it changed from 150 to 300 and 900.
The 29-year-old was purchased by Mumbai Indians for Rs.15 lakh during the auction, a Rs.5 lakh increase over her starting price.
