Williams Racing has reportedly dropped the only American driver, Logan Sargeant from competing in the Formula 1 mid-season, replacing him with Franco Colapinto on Tuesday, find out more about Franco below.
Following the move, Franco will now replace him starting from the Italian Grand Prix which takes place this weekend.

Sargeant will leave F1 with just one point from 36 race starts ever since joining Williams for the 2023 season.
Williams team principal James Vowles issued a statement, saying:
To replace a driver mid-season is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we believe this gives Williams the best chance to compete for points over the remainder of the season. We have just brought a large upgrade to the car and need to maximize every points-scoring opportunity in a remarkably tight midfield battle.”
Franco Colapinto bio
Franco Alejandro Colapinto is an Argentine racing driver who was born May 27, 2003, in Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a Boca Juniors supporter. He is currently competing in the 2024 Formula One World Championship with the Williams Racing team, and previously competed in the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship. He joined the Williams racing team in Formula One as a replacement for Logan Sargeant. Franco is the 2019 Spanish Formula 4 champion and a member of the Williams Driver Academy.
When he was four, his father gave him a quad bike but the names of his parents who live in Argentina aren’t known.
While he is currently single and unmarried it is rumored that the current girlfriend of Ferrari’s, Olivier Berman, Estelle Ogilvy, 21 who is a law student and rising model. was the ex-girlfriend of Williams’ driver, Franco Colapinto.

Franco Colapinto career
Franco Colapinto started out his racing career with karting, at the young age of nine. Colapinto won the Argentine Championship in both 2016 and 2018, alongside a win during the 2018 Youth Summer Olympics. He eventually made his car racing debut in 2018, during the final round of the F4 Spanish Championship. The following year, in 2019, Colapinto signed with Drivex and won the title after 11 race wins, 13 podium finishes, and 14 pole positions.
During that same season, Colapinto also drove for Drivex as a guest driver at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. At the same time, he drove at Spa and Catalunya. The following year, in July 2020, Franco Colapinto joined the championship full-time with Dutch team MP Motorsport. Earlier that year in January, Colapinto joined Kiwi Motorsport for the 2020 championship and won the season following a win in Hampton Downs, and 7 podiums finishes.
After climbing up through the FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 competitions, Colapinto eventually joined the Formula One Championship in January 2023. Colapinto joined as a member of the Williams Driver Academy, and made his debut during the 2023 F1 post-season test. While doing so, Colapinto became the first Argentine to drive an F1 ever since Gastón Mazzacane in the 2001 San Marino Grand Prix.
Colapinto eventually made his Formula One race weekend debut for Williams at the 2024 British Grand Prix. He will now race again at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix in place of Logan Sargeant, and will race for Williams for the rest of the 2024 Formula One season.
