On the Cunningham highway near Warwick, Turner’s 4WD Ute collided with two other vehicles. The crash caused Turner to drive off the road into a rural Queensland area. The devastating news has left the deceased’s friends and family in shock, and tributes are flooding in.
The incident took place on Sunday, November 20th. To help the family of the dead raise money for Turner’s funeral, a friend of the family set up a GoFundMe page. Turner was referred to as a “fifth son” by Leeanne Eastwell, the mother of Turner’s pals and the one who organised the fundraising.
Who Is William Turner?
Turner has participated in camp drafting competitions all across the Queensland region and was a well-known figure in the sport. A bullock is taken from a group and the rider rides it around a predetermined course in the equestrian event known as camp drafting.
Only a few days have passed since Turner graduated from Warwick’s Scots PGC College. Turner was the sole person in his automobile; however, five people from the other two cars also suffered injuries. The accident, according to a farm worker who helped emergency responders on the scene, was a mess. “One car was upside down in the middle of the road, another was on its side on the side of the road, and there was a Ute in the middle,” the farm worker said.
Friends And Family Mourn Over The Loss
Lane, the youngest son of Eastwell, and Turner were said to be good friends, according to a Daily Mail report. The words “William Peter Turner. 16-04-05 20-11-02, ’90 or nothing'” are tattooed on Lane’s forearm. A prevalent expression in Turner’s equestrian community is “90 or nothing,” which refers to putting everything on the line regardless of the outcome.
During a press conference, Eastwell said, “I would take them to football at Toowoomba a few times a week, and he ended up being the fifth boy I never had… He was a great kid who was certainly going places. He was a larrikin that everyone adored and the life of the party.”
