Jeremy Lalrinnunga has set a new record at CWG, 22 by lifting 140kg in the snatch category, later in his second attempt he lifted 160kg in the clean and jerk category to ensure the second gold of India in CWG, 22. However, his second attempt for securing the gold has caused his body some damage.

• Jeremy Lalrinnunga Ralte is a 19yr-old professional Indian weightlifter from Aizawl, Mizoram. When he was just 6, he was more interested in boxing and use to train in his father’s academy. When Jeremy turned 8 his father’s academy had to shut down due to the financial crisis.
• Jeremy’s interest in weightlifting was built when he used to visit the gym nearby in his village where he saw many young people lifting the weights, that moment Jeremy decided to get into the weightlifting and at the age of 9, Jeremy got selected for Army Sports Institute(ASI) Pune through talent scouting, and since then Jeremy continued his weightlifting training at ASI.
• Later he went to National Camp at Patiala where he got his further weightlifting training under the Indian Weightlifting Coach Vijay Sharma.
• Jeremy kept on working hard and won medals at various nationals and international weightlifting competitions including the Khelo India, World Weightlifting Championships, Asian Youth and Junior Championships.
• In 2018, Jeremy created history by winning the gold for India at Youth Olympic Games, he became the first-ever Indian to win a gold in the men’s 67kg category in Youth Olympics. His combined total weight lifted tally was 274kh (124kg in the snatch and 150 kg in the clean and jerk)  category.
• Jeremy yet again created history at Commonwealth Games 2022, by setting a new CWG record of lifting 140kg (snatch category)in the competition. In addition, he lifted a total 300kg (140kg in snatch and 160kg in C&J) winning the gold for India.
His height stands at 5 feet 5 inches and he is a Christian by religion. He is unmarried and doesn’t have a wife.
