Shreyas Iyer’s Statement
In the post-match presentation, Shreyas was asked about how players deal with the regular chop and changes in the team. Shreyas in the reply to the question said “It is really difficult (to tell players about axings). Coach and at times, the CEO is also obviously involved in team selections”.
After this statement, Venky Mysore was put under the spotlight as he is the Managing Director of KKR. It is not the first time that Shreyas looked pissed at the team staff. Who is Venky Mysore?
Venkatesh Mysore has worked in the Corporate House for more than 20 years. He has worked for Met Life insurance company for over 21 years. He left the Company in 2010 as the Managing Director of PNB Met life India Insurance limited. Right Now he is CEO of Red chilies entertainment.
“I was born in Bangalore. My father was with the American Consulate so he was transferred to Madras, when I was a kid. I don’t even remember living in Bangalore. Although my native place is Bangalore and mother tongue is Kannada, I grew up in Chennai so I am as much a Tamilian.
“I did my schooling and college there. Did economics major with statistics and maths. I then went to Coimbatore for my MBA. I was in the US for 13 years with MetLife. It was my first job. I was one of the high potential performers so I grew quite fast.
“I set up a joint venture, got the licence and MetLife India was established, and I became its first CEO. I continued to be an expat here. When they wanted me to go back to New York, I was quite reluctantly preparing to go. Out of the blue, I got an offer from Sun Life of Canada. I was hired as their country head and moved to Mumbai,” Venky said previously when asked about his life and career.
He joined KKR in 2010 and became CEO and Managing Director of the team. He played a major role in buying the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise in CPL. Venky Mysore has a smart business brain and he is involved in the Auction think tank to the team selection of KKR.
Venky Mysore is born in Bengaluru and has been popular for being the mastermind behind the plans of KKR. He once suggested that BBCI should allow Indian players to play in CPL. He is married to wife Veena with whom he has a daughter. Details of his salary and net worth can be found here.
