Varun Dua bio, age, and education
Varun Dua, who is currently just 38 years old, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Acko Insurance. He also owns CoverFox and online insurance aggravators. Varun has over 10 years of experience in the insurance market. Varun attended the University of Mumbai, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He then completed his masters from a business school in India called MICA (Mudra Institute of Communications), Ahmedabad.
Varun Dua profession and career
Following his graduation, Varun started out his career as a trainee at Leo Burnett Advertising. He then worked as a marketing manager for Tata AIG Life Insurance and Franklin Templeton Investments. After working for different companies in various roles, he started working on his own venture. Varun went on to launch CoeverFox, one of the biggest online insurance aggravators.
Following his success with CoeverFox, he launched another company called Acko in 2016. Due to his previous records in the insurance market and his proven success with CoeverFox, Varun managed to raise over $30 million for Acko from multiple investors. One of the key motivations for starting Acko was the rising trend of using the Internet to find interesting ways of selling insurance products. The internet offers a way of offering insurance with hassle-free paperwork and quick results. According to a report in October 2021, Acko had a valuation of over $1 billion.
Net worth
Acko became India’s 34th startup to become a unicorn, with a valuation of $1 billion and above but Vinod’s net worth isn’t known.
