Who is Nika Muhl?
Nika Muhl is a Croatian collegiate basketball player for the Big East Conference’s UConn Huskies who was born on April 9, 2001 in Zagreb, Croatia. The 22-year-old stands 178 cm (5 ft 10 in) tall.
A look at Nika Muhl’s career so far
Nika is a point guard. She holds the all-time single-season record for assists for the Huskies with 284 during the 2022–2023 season. She was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year twice (2022, 2023). Muhl also has the record for the most assists in an UConn career with 679.
Muhl played in the Croatian Prva Zenska Liga with ZKK Tresnjevka 2009 for four seasons, from 2016 to 2020. Talking about her college career, Several NCAA Division I basketball programmes, including Oregon, Ohio State, Louisville, and USF, offered her scholarships.
In addition to leading the Huskies defence that gave up a league-high 50.8 points per game against conference opponents, Muhl was voted Big East Defensive Player of the Year for the 2021–2022 season. His average of 2.2 steals per game was second best in the Big East.
Muhl emerged as UConn’s most crucial player after Paige Bueckers was sidelined for the season. She began all three of UConn’s Big East Tournament games and all three of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament games. She finished the season with 284 assists.
