The brutal spree of violence that terrorized Nottingham this past Tuesday has claimed the life of another university student Indian Grace Kumar, know her age and parents
The young woman has been identified as Grace Kumar, a 19-year-old athlete renowned in England’s under-18 hockey program.

According to local sources, Grace Kumar was returning home from a night out in Nottingham when she became one of two victims fatally stabbed by a mysterious assailant cloaked in black. Tragically, Grace was the second university student from the University of Nottingham to fall prey to these brutal attacks.
Grace, 19, was with fellow student Barnaby Webber on the way home from a night out when they were knifed to death in the early hours of Tuesday and another man, in his 50s, also died in a linked attack. Three more were injured, with one still in a critical condition. A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder but motive behind the attacks is not yet clear.
Grace, a keen hockey player, played for England at age group level, and is thought to have turned out for her local club in north London and also played cricket for a local club in the same area, captaining a junior side.
Woodford Wells Cricket Club, in Essex, said Grace Kumar, who died in the knife and van attack in Nottingham on Tuesday, was “fun, friendly and brilliant”.
Grace attended the private day school Bancroft School in north-east London and her father is Sanjoy Kumar, a GP who helped saved victims of a stabbing in 2009.

The news of Grace Kumar’s untimely passing shocked the local community, particularly those familiar with her standout talent in England’s youth hockey program. Grace had an impressive sporting record, having represented England at both under-16s and under-18s levels, as reported by Nottinghamshire Live.
During the 2018-29 season, she concluded as the highest goal scorer in her age group. Even as she transitioned into university life, Grace Kumar continued to pursue her passion, contributing to the Surbiton girls’ first team’s victories in prestigious UK leagues.
The Nottingham Rampage: A city in shock
The tragedy did not end with Grace. The unknown assailant proceeded to murder a third individual, a man in his fifties, before stealing his van and injuring three more people. One of the injured currently fights for his life in a local hospital.
Among the victims of this horrific rampage was Grace’s friend, Barnaby Webber. Barnaby, a gifted athlete from Taunton School and a freshman at the university, was also returning home from a night out with Grace when the attacks took place.

The local community and the families of Grace and Barnaby are reeling from the shock and loss. Friends and loved ones have been pouring out their heartfelt tributes, remembering Barnaby as someone who will “always be loved.”
The grieving family of Grace Kumar, residents of northeast London, have preferred to mourn in private.
A suspect, a 31-year-old man, is currently in police custody under suspicion of murder. As Nottingham attempts to recover from the shock, the entire nation mourns the promising lives cruelly taken too soon.
