Reports online claimed that jewgazing on Twitter/X was Thomas Matthew Crooks who shot at Donald Trump

If you’re using social media platforms especially X/Twitter, chances are you must have encountered a blogger-troll that misled many including some Western media outlets by pretending to be the famous Thomas Mathew Crooks, who is making headlines for reportedly attempting to assassinate former US President Trump.


For those unaware of the situation, earlier reports emerged suggesting that US presidential candidate Donald Trump faced an alleged assassination attack during his campaign speech in Pennsylvania.

A video of the Incident is going viral across the social media platform and features Trump with a scratched cheek and bloody ear.

After the video of the attack went viral a blogger came forward and pretended to be the 20-year-old American Thomas Mathew Crooks, suspect behind the assassination.

Identity of the Blogger

The blogger took to X and posted a video in which he declared his hatred for Republicans and Trump personally. The X/Twitter user who goes by the name @jewgazing on the platform has a striking resemblance to the slain suspect.

Like the slain suspect, X user @jewgazing also has long blond hair. In his viral video, he was seen wearing glasses. It contributed to the widespread belief in his video. Currently, the troll blogger’s profile on the network is private.

In his video, the man can be heard saying, “My name is Thomas Matthew Crooks. I hate Republicans. I hate Trump. And you know what, you got the wrong guy.”

About Thomas Mathew Crooks

For the curious, reports indicate that the suspect behind Trump’s assassination has been killed. Earlier, a photo of his bloody body went viral.

He was shot in the head after he tried to kill the former President. Now another video is reportedly making rounds online depicting that Crooks recorded himself before the alleged shooting.

In his alleged video, he declared his hatred for Trump and the Republicans. However, the video is made by a X user as aforementioned.

As per media reports, Mathew Crooks hailed from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, a site which is about 40 miles south of the rally site.

According to the state water records, Crooks registered Republican himself. At the time of writing this article a motive behind his actions is to be known.
