According to reports, the singer Kalpana Raghavendar used sleeping medications to commit suicide. She was taken to the hospital after being discovered unconscious at home, according to multiple news sources. A hospital in the Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) neighborhood admitted the singer and Kalpana is presently receiving ventilator support.
According to information obtained, the singer’s neighbours called the police after the apartment security system warned the occupants that she had not opened her door for two days. Her suicide attempt’s precise cause is still unknown.
44-year-old Telugu singer Kalpana Raghavendar was born on 8 May 1980. She came from a family of musicians. Her mother, Sulochana, is a singer, and her father, T. S. Raghavendra, was a well-known playback singer, actor, and composer. Shekinah Shawn, her younger sister is an opera singer. She holds a Master of Computer Applications degree.
Kalpana took her Carnatic music lessons under Madurai T. Srinivasan and apart from her proficiency in singing, she holds a Master of Computer Applications degree and a Master of Philosophy.
The singer was admitted in a hospital in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) area and is currently “unconscious and receiving treatment.” Her daughter meanwhile has denied reports of her mother attempting to commit suicide with her claiming it was a slight overdose of an insomnia medication advised by a doctor.
Kalpana Raghavendar was previously married but the name of her husband isn’t known and Kalpana was raising her three kids all alone. Her ex-husband was in Chennai at the time she committed suicide with reports claiming that isolation and the divorce played a part in her attempt to kill herself. She is currently said to be on the ventilator.

Kalpana Raghavendar career
When Kalpana Raghavendar was five years old, she started performing music. At the age of six, she starred in the movie Punnagai Mannan. The music director Saluri Vasurao had her sing her first vocals for a family song that featured P. Susheela, Mano, M. M. Srilekha, and her younger sister Prasanna.
The song “Mangalagouriki” from the Telugu movie Manoharam, which was directed by Mani Sharma, marked the beginning of her adult playback singing career in 1999. M. S. Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraaja, A. R. Rahman, K. V. Mahadevan, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, and K. S. Chithra are just a few of the renowned composers and vocalists she has collaborated with.
