WHAT DID THE SOAP LADY DO?

Leonarda Cianciulli, often renowned as The Detergent of Correggio, was a woman who murdered three people and used their fat to create soap and cakes.

Faustina Setti was her first victim, and she was slain with an ax. Cianciulli turned her blood into tea cakes. Cianciulli’s alleged attacker was Francesca Soavi, whose been strangled in 1940. Virginia Cacioppo, a former opera singer, was the final victim. Cianciulli dissolved her flesh and made soap out of it, which she handed to “neighbors and friends.”

Cianciulli was apprehended by cops in Reggio Emilia and instantly confessed to the killings when questioned. She received a 30-year jail term and 3 years in a juvenile sanctuary. She passed away in October 1970.
