Allegations have emerged from students, who claim that the college authorities initially claimed she had fainted and then rushed her to the hospital. While the college management professes ignorance regarding the reasons behind the student’s tragic act, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
As the uproar surrounding the tragic death of Shraddha Satheesh continues to escalate, the college has taken the drastic step of indefinitely closing its doors. The college administration made this choice in the middle of continuing conversations with the students, who were asked to attend a meeting today.
Reportedly, the principal has instructed the students to vacate the hostels, but they are adamant in refusing to comply. Notwithstanding yesterday’s meetings between the management and the striking students, the students have refused to cease their strike.

Shraddha Satheesh was an Indian student who took her own life under mysterious circumstances. And her death has sparked protests all over Kerala.
She grew up in the Thiruvankulam neighborhood of Ernakulam. She was a second-year student at Amal Jyothi College, studying food technology.
At the time of her death, she was just 20 years old.
How did she die?
Shraddha Satheesh faced a tragic fate after returning from the semester holidays. She was allegedly seen using her phone in a lab, due to which her phone was taken away, and she was called to the department head’s office, where she was subjected to mental abuse, including insults and slurs.
Later that evening, she allegedly attempted suicide by hanging, only to be discovered by her roommates, who sought help. She was taken to a hospital, where she passed away during transfer to the ICU.
The announcement of her passing triggered student demonstrations against the college administration, who were accused of handling the issue poorly and acting insensitively.
