In a recent development, Atiq Ahmad, Shaista Parveen’s husband, and two others were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Prayagraj for the kidnapping of Umesh Pal in 2006. Umesh Pal, a witness in the murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was also allegedly killed by the same group last month.
