This was a big blow for Atiq Ahmed. Asad Ahmed was the primary suspect in the death of Umesh Pal, who was a key witness in the case involving the slaying of BSP MLA Raju Pal. after Atiq Ahmed’s family has been the subject of intense scrutiny from the police for more than a decade, and the investigation into Umesh Pal’s death has only been stepped up after he was killed.

Now that Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad Ahmed has been killed, his two brothers have turned themselves in to the authorities, and his father is being held in custody, the focus of the investigation has shifted to Atiq Ahmed’s wife, Shaista Parveen, who is the only member of the family who is not currently being held by the police.
Shaista Parveen was born on Saturday, 1 July 1972 (age 50 years; as of 2022) in the Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj. She and Atiq got married in 1996.
She is named as a conspirator in the Umesh Pal murder case as on the basis of the complaint lodged by Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal, a case was registered at Dhoomanganj police station against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam and nine others.
They have been booked under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and the Explosive Substances Act and the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
Shaista Parveen wanted in connection to crime family and murder investigation
Shaista Parveen, who is the mother of Asad Ahmed and the wife of Atiq Ahmed, has been an active part of the crime family. Asad Ahmed passed away. She was one of the primary suspects in the murder of Umesh Pal, along with her son. Shaista Parveen is wanted by the government of Uttar Pradesh, which is offering a reward of Rs. 50,000 to anyone who can provide information regarding her whereabouts.

Mayawati, a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, is currently leading the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which Shaista Parveen recently joined. On the other hand, as a result of the recent events, Mayawati has declared that the BSP will not put Shaista Parveen or any other member of Atiq Ahmed’s family up for election in the future election.
Deputy SPs Navendu and Vimal lead operation resulting in encounter
Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP) Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal were in charge of the operation in Jhansi that led to the encounter, which concluded in a gunfight between Asad Ahmed, his aide Ghulam, and the police. During the chaos that ensued, both Asad Ahmed and Ghulam lost their lives.
As the Yogi government zeroes down on Shaista Parveen, it is unclear what will happen to the members of Atiq Ahmed’s crime family who are still alive. The public is currently awaiting additional developments in this high-profile case as police investigations are still ongoing.
