A Big Step From BGMI and Krafton India As They Welcome Sohn

Sohn joined the company as CFO in 2017. He led the investment business following the 2020 merger of PUBG Corporation and Krafton. Sohn stated that the Indian gaming sector is “at the beginning of its development stages”. When he was chosen as the CEO of Krafton India and the head of the India Division at Krafton, South Korean media outlet Naver claimed that India had the potential to flourish due to local consumer preferences. The change was made with an aim to bring Krafton’s intellectual property and gaming experiences to other nations and views India as a “market of opportunity.”

He said,” The Indian game market is in the beginning stage of development, so there is great potential for expansion. Based on the already proven and popular ‘Battleground’ IP, we will do our best to ensure that Krafton can properly settle in the Indian market. (Intellectual property) and the gaming experience will be extended to more countries. “

Buoyancy To Have Better Opportunity For Growth

By launching Battlegrounds Mobile India and creating an esports culture here, Krafton has been focusing on the Indian market since founding its Indian subsidiary. Sohn said that only this year, Krafton invested in the sector to the tune of $70 million USD.

The latest IPO sale by Krafton was predicted to garner up to $3.8 billion USD. The founder of the firm, Chang Byung-gyu, now has the most equity in the corporation, with a 16.4% interest as of the year 2020. Chinese business Tencent comes in second with a 15.5 percent ownership held through an investment firm. Small investors who each held less than 1% of the company in total were in charge of 23.24% of Krafton.

The game’s esports community will be bolstered with region-specific events and by partnering with stakeholders in the Indian esports industry when Battlegrounds Mobile India launches on iOS. He will try to duplicate the success of PUBG and PUBG Mobile, which are considered one of the highest grossing games of all time.
